چکیده
Anemia is characterized by an abnormal decrease in the level of hemoglobin or number red blood cells blood. It a public health problem that mainly affects pregnant women and young children. In present study, objective was to evaluated anti-anemic potential recipe composed three medicinal plants, Xylopia aethiopica (Dunal) A. Rich, Zanthoxylum leprieurii (GUILL) and Harungara madagascariensis (LAM), used treat sickle cell anemia rats. Aqueous hydroethanol extracts were first prepared quantitative phytochemical tests carried out. Then, activity assessed. The induced animals intraperitoneal injection phenylhydrazine at repeated dose 40 mg/kg bw for two days. Treatment out with aqueous plant doses 400 800 bw. obtained results indicated contains total phenols (43.31±0.92 mg GAE/g 33.82±0.6 GAE /g dry weight), flavonoids (17.07±0.89 QE 19.76±1.15 QE/g weight) tannin (8.65±0.01 26.5±0.95 Cat E/g decocted respectively. effectively corrected after 21 days oral administration significantly increased (P < 0.05), count 0.001), hematocrit 0.01) as early 7th treatment compared untreated controls. These show aethiopica, possess antianemic properties.

Cardiac hypertrophy in rats with phenylhydrazine anemia.
THIS investigation was undertaken for the purpose of studying the effect of anemia upon the hearts of rats, of determining whether cardiac hypertrophy occurs, and, if so, of studying the mechanism of hypertrophy. In spite of the widespread belief that cardiac hypertrophy does occur with anemia, Stembridge and Rigdon have indicated the lack of evidence to support many of the reported cases. Thei...

Samul-tang (Si-Wu-Tang, SMT), a kind of herbal medicines, has been used for the hemato-deficient disease for hundreds of years. In this work, investigate the anti-anemia activity of the H2O extracts from constituent herbal medicines of Samul-tang in an anemia model induced by intravenous infection of phenylhydrazine-HCL (PHZ) at 10 mg/kg for 4 days. After PHZ injection, female Sparague-Dawley r...

متن کاملAmelioration of Lipid Peroxidation and Antioxidant Enzymes Status in the Serum and Erythrocytes of Phenylhydrazine-Induced Anemic Male Rats: The Protective Role of Artichoke Extract (Cynara scolymus L.)
BACKGROUND: Hemolytic anemia is a disorder characterized by the premature erythrocytes destruction. Phenylhydrazine (PHZ) induces oxidative stress and reactive oxygen species (ROS) formation, which causes hemolytic anemia. Cynara scolymus due to its antioxidant compounds, has been used for various therapeutic purposes in traditional medicine. OBJECTIVES: The present study was designed to evalua...
